Re: Paku Paku -- 1.6 released 9 November 2011

I have a bug to report, the current 1.6 will always choose Adlib sound over Tandy/PCjr. sound, even if the /tandySound switch is used. Not quite as relevant to the PCjr. (unless you have a GameMaster sidecar) as to the Tandy, but still. The upcoming version 2.0 does not have said problem. Whole new...

Re: Paku Paku -- 1.6 released 9 November 2011

Just a quick update for Jr users. I've now got a real junior to play with and have abandoned the plans for version 1.7 in favor of an all new 2.0. I felt the need to skip to a version 2 number as pretty much all the underlying code is being redone from scratch; coded sprites, RLL and unique key enco...

Re: PCjr web server test

HEY! Is that actually sending markup and CSS gzipped? It seems so... If you have realtime gzip compression, I'm damned impressed...

... or did you precompress the files?

Re: PCjr web server test

You could probably lighten the load by modernizing the markup -- main page alone you've got 8.7k of markup doing less than 5k's job... Likewise you've got it set to disable browser caching, and that would increase the load as well. You could also strip the META nothing cares about or uses (author), ...

Free memory

I'm working on something for early 128k machines, and have a question about the Jr. Since it shares RAM from video, how much memory is free once DOS 2 (or whatever's appropriate to the Jr) is loaded on a 128k Jr. I'd like to use 60% to 75% of that as my minimum target (wiggle room), since I figure t...

Re: IMSI TurboCD Designer Software-Works on jr!

Back in the day I regularly used a program called "ProDesign 2" on a Tandy 2000 at work and my XT at home -- off DD 5.25" floppies, so the Jr. being up to the job isn't exactly a shocker to me.

Compared to most games, even back then, 2D CAD is a tinkertoy.

Re: Paku Paku -- 1.6 released 9 November 2011

Looks great and plays great. The high score bug seems to be fixed. However, I did notice that the joystick calibration is a little off, but it is quite possible that my joystick is acting up. Fun game. Actually, and this is a laugh, it appears I'm not waiting long enough between joystick reads for ...

Re: Paku Paku -- 1.5 released 21 Mar 2011

Version 1.6 is now out, and I've made room on my programming page to give it an official home.

fun stuff... so in revamping the code, fine tuning EGA and VGA support, and adding MT-32/General Midi, what did I break on the Jr?

Re: Paku Paku -- 1.5 released 21 Mar 2011

Should be ok, tested fine on the 1k... I'm assuming the problem was on the jr?

Is it possible to get a screencap of the issue? Double check that the copy you have isn't corrupted and you overwrote all the files.

Re: What are you using your machine for?

I HAD a Jr for a good while, but sold it off when I realized MOST of what I wanted to do with it already existed on a Tandy 1K. I know, I know... traitor... Since that time (about two years ago) I've become a bit of a junkie on the Tandy's... for some weird reason I seem really attached to the EX an...
