Re: PCjr 64kb RAM only - software
There was no software included with the 64KB jr. When I bought the 64KB unit, it came with the chicklet keyboard, power brick, guide to operation and basic book. I opened the box recently (3 years ago) when I moved and the accessories are still new in the wrappers. I recall now that I used the base ...

Re: PCjr 64kb RAM only - software
I am the original owner of a 64KB jr. I purchased it to use the motherboard after my 128 KB jr died one week after the warranty expired. I still have it in the box with the swapped-in bad motherboard. I still have the original good MB too.

Also, I clearly remember that my jr was able to boot directly from the HDD.

Re: Schematic: Racore 1504/1507 Disk Upgrade
I believe the Racore HDD add-on requires a non-standard low-level format. I am the original owner of a Racore 10 MB HDD add-on and while mine was still under warranty, the HDD developed a "bad track 0" error which is not repairable. They swapped the HDD but did not low-level format it. Und...

Re: CGA to VGA Converter
Hi Paul,
I have no experience with that unit, but I can see from the wiring diagram that it does not have an input for the "intensity" signal of the PCjr monitor output. IBM CGA is not just RGB, but is RGBI, so to say. I have not seen one of these convertors that have that feature.

Re: Racore 10MB Setup
Anyone know how to do a low level format with the Racore addon? I tried the Debug g command at several locations but it does not appear to have the utility built in.

Re: Problem with KB5151 keyboard
Took it apart again and the little foamies are all rotted. I blew a little air it that direction and a bunch of mylar disks and foam dust came out; strange that there was none already falling out. Anyways, I should be able to trigger a response from the keyboard by manually touching the discs onto t...

Re: Monitor adapter
Yes, I was able to match the color of the wires to the signals for the Berg plug and then solder them to the correct pins in the 9-pin CGA plug. I regretted it now that I wanted to use it with the PCjr again.

Re: Problem with KB5151 keyboard
Well, I was surprised by just how big and heavy this keyboard is. Anyways, I cannot get any of the keys to register a keystroke. In case I did not mention it, the LEDs give an initial flash on power-up and it passes the bootup keyboard test with no errors. In the PC BIOS POST there appears to be cod...

Problem with KB5151 keyboard
Hi, I am trying a KeyTronics KB5151 keyboard I just bought on eBay with a Racore XT keyboard adapter. The lights on the keyboard flash and there is no post error, but there is also no input once it boots to either BASIC or DOS. I just tried the keyboard on my PC 5150 with the same result. I opened u...
