MCE2VGA Woes
Hi fellow PCjr-ers, I just picked up an MCE2VGA (v2) adapter from TexElec, and it seems to work great with one exception - I'm seeing a slight bit of wobble in the picture. It seems to go back and forth from pretty stable, to wobbly, and back again in a defined cycle. Here's what I've tried so far: ...

Re: King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
I mailed a copy of the original disks to Hargle and confirmed they were working. Not sure if he's pulled fresh images off of those disks yet, but yeah, the ones that had been circulating from Retrograde Station (which you have) are definitely not "real PCjr" friendly.

Re: Speech Adapter info thread
I wonder if that AH parameter is being utilized by the P1 BASIC parameter (P1 sets the mode to record/playback, vocab foreground or vocab background). Then the P2 BASIC parameter that tells it to "play back from vocabulary BIOS" assuming you are in one of the vocab modes, and then P3 sets ...

Re: Speech Adapter info thread
Yeah it is (unfortunate as that may be). It's easier for me to understand ... I'm a super-beginner at actual coding.

Re: Speech Adapter info thread
Whoops, my bad, by "SPC" I really mean "LPC". (Typed up my last post in too much of a hurry.) BlueWizard saves out LPC-format .BIN or text-based byte stream files. I don't have any more information on what the actual data looks like, but generally what I think it's doing i...

Re: Speech Adapter info thread
Got the speech adapter up and running, here's where I'm at. BlueWizard seems to work great for converting audio files (.wav or .aif) to SPC format. There are actually a lot of parameters you can tweak to lock and shift pitch, highpass and lowpass filtering, and other stuff. It gives you some great c...

Re: Speech Adapter info thread
Resurrecting this old thread for some questions! One of the forum members was kind enough to sell me his Speech Adapter, so it's on its way. I've been reading through the few documents available for it, and I also found a super-cool Mac app called "BlueWizard" that takes all the stuff QBox...

Re: Just got PCjr Cassette Adapter - Time for Fun
Great read, thanks. I wonder if any cassette programs even exist out there that are PCjr-specific. You know what's funny ... since it's just an arbitrary audio-based bit-stream, couldn't you even use a VCR and VHS tapes as high-capacity storage media? I remember recording Dolby Surround music onto V...

Just got PCjr Cassette Adapter - Time for Fun
I managed to snag this oddity off of eBay for super cheap, so I'm looking forward to playing with it. For you gents who have had experience with cassette loading: - I'm assuming the best I'll be able to do with this is save/load BASIC programs? After all, it's Disk Operating System, not Cassette Ope...
