Re: Adding more RAM to a Drive Two

I'm resurrecting this old thread to inform you that I finally took the time to perform the 640 kB upgrade described in the aforementioned RACOR640.DOC document. I confirm that it works. It took me a few hours to complete. It takes good skills at soldering.

Cheers,

Christian

DOSBox 0.74 with improved PCJr compatibility

This is not a very "fresh" news, but some of you might not be aware that the DOSBox emulator offers PCJr support. Version 0.74 was released on May 12, 2010. Here are some of the changes from 0.73 to 0.74 : CGA, PCJr, Tandy: Add video blanking, change display start latch timing, sync pulse ...

Re: Tandy modification complete

Can somebody send me the instructions for this or link me to them? There's also "jrto10.txt" in the "U-612 PCjr Tool Box" folder of the archive http://www.brutman.com/PCjr_Club_Library.zip. Christian Your second link gives me a 404 error, but thanks for the first one! Right. Loo...

Re: Tandy modification complete

Can somebody send me the instructions for this or link me to them? Look for "jrto1000.zip" in http://john.ccac.rwth-aachen.de:8000/ftp/mirrors/ps2supersite.homedns.org/pccbbs/system_specific/. There's also "jrto10.txt" in the "U-612 PCjr Tool Box" folder of the archive...

Re: Turbo Prolog

Turbo Prolog is probably not the best way to introduce yourself to Prolog. While it is certainly interesting because it can run on a first-generation PC (or even a PCjr), there are free, modern implementations. SWI-Prolog is a good one. I also used AMZI Prolog, which isn't an open source project, bu...

Re: Turbo Prolog

is Turbo Prolog public domain? Probably not. If so, please post a link. Use the force (AKA Google). Hint: "turboprolog.zip" may or may not yield interesting results. I did some light TP, which I felt was the perfect language to use back then - fast, compiled, good constructs (strongly typ...

Re: Tandy modification complete

Walid,

I got the chip (74F86) required for the mod, which I'm planning on doing. Are you satisfied with it so far?

Cheers,

Re: Turbo Prolog

Has anyone here ever tried Prolog before? It is advertised as "the natural language of artificial intelligence", which sounded a bit grandiose to me... I used Prolog for a computational linguistics course I attended at university. It is well-suited to program parsers for natural languages...

when I'm in Quebec I just act dumb rather than try to insult people in their own language You know, I think most people would be happy with your trying to speak their language and forgive you any mistake you could make. Don't be shy. They may switch to English at some point if they realize you can'...

Re: Development Environments (Was:Starting a PCjr coding project

Let's say I want to program for the PCjr, not necessarily on the PCjr. I understand that DOSBox can simulate the PCjr graphics adapter, so I guess some testing could be done on a modern PC, not just programming. What would be a good environment for targeting the PCjr? BC++ 3.x? Mike, what do you use...
