Re: PCJR Speech Board 'NEW Deisgn'
The last pic shows my home JR I work with,,,,have gotten some 'looks' on the color, but it is my work unit and it looks better in person :) also the top unit is just another JR main case that I cut drilled etc to fit on top. I am surprised I never thought of turning a main JR case into an expansion...

Re: Bulletin Board for PCJr
I wouldn't be able to dial in because I don't have home phone service, but I'd be interested in a telnet BBS if that's something that's doable.

Re: Microsoft PCjr Booster Pinout
Actually it's all labeled and color coded inside so deriving the pinout was easy.

Re: Microsoft PCjr Booster Pinout
This one should be the correct mouse (it's listed as serial, but it's identical to my Booster mouse): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rare-Microsoft-Green-Eyed-Serial-Mouse-Metal-Ball-A-SCP/312714944777?hash=item48cf436109:g:PTUAAOSwTm9dPJeQ I could swear that I'd found a pinout for it online befor...

Re: Zeliard - Keyboard problem?
This happens because the PCJr doesn't generate break scancodes for the Fn keys. You can fix it with the NOBEEP driver or TSR (attached), Zeliard then works fine. Note that when restoring a save, I have to type the name for some reason (overwriting the default "Re-Start") - just selecting ...

Re: PC-Sprint negative: joysticks don't function
I'll try to remember to try it on mine later. I'm not actually using a Sprint-type board, I've just got two 8284s stacked on top of each other with the faster CPU crystal and a switch tacked on, but I think it's essentially the same mod.

Re: PC DOS 5 Editor
My bad - the official DOS edit.com does indeed use QuickBasic. edit.com is only 413 bytes. So now I'm wondering what other file called EDIT.COM I was confusing it with ... (/me slinks back to my hole ...) I *think* the "MS-DOS 7" version of EDIT.COM that came with Windows 95/98 was able t...

Re: PC DOS 5 Editor
It absolutely does. EDIT.COM isn't even its own program, it just calls QBASIC.EXE in text editor mode.Trixter wrote:Brutman wrote: Edit definitely does not require BASIC in any form.
I could have sworn the MS-DOS 6+ EDIT.COM requires QBASIC.EXE in the PATH.

Re: PCjr Cartridge Collection
I only have one cartridge, a loose Demon Attack with no label (actually purchased off eBay as a 'Mystery Cartridge', which, since I owned no PCjr cartridges at the time, I was guaranteed not to have).
