Noise doesn't matter unless you fall off the cliff. CGA signals are entirely digital - not analog.ZiggyTheHamster wrote:The downside is that you probably don't have a nice enough cable to do this with, and using something like a Cat 6 cable like I did is going to introduce noise and make the image quality not great.

Re: Max number of side car addons
Just some historical context, the JR-IDE project was designed quickly and without much thought to stacking a lot of side-cars along with it as it fulfills most needs. I should have added a '245 for data but it wasn't a big concern at the time.

Re: PCjr prototypes and oddities
All I ask is you think about some sort of escrow plan for where these things go if (and eventually when) something happens to you. I'd like to see these end up at a museum instead of someone tossing them in the bin after a few decades are up. After all, before your rescue, much of the CRW haul might...

Re: jrIDE - time for another production run?
The LED display has a disable register bit that is set at the end of the current option ROM BIOS's execution. Look at the cpld_rtc.pld file for register level documentation. Yes, the only changes from A to B were an extra decoupling cap, addition of external battery and crystal options for the RTC s...

It was the OP's packet driver. I haven't compared the source he posted to the original yet.

It's the little machine that could. On a related note, I did get a 8-bit NE2000 NIC working I layed-out in a Tandy PLUS form-factor thanks to a packet driver modification someone on VCForums made a long time ago. My first PLUS board had some quirky mechanical issues with the back-plate alignment. I'...

...now need the keyboard overlay and warranty registration card, if there was one. Not sure there was either in the original version. Collectively we brought back 6-7 IBM copies from CRW all shrink wrapped. The only thing in the one I kept was the red label floppy and user manual. I was giving away...
