Re: King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
KQ2 booter versions do work, I have original v1.1h disks and they work OK. Try removing the memory sidecar and reseat the internal memory expansion.

Re: EEVBlog's review of the PCjr
Ah, he's just jealous, the Australians never got the PCjr. They got the obscure PC JX instead

Re: Tandy keyboards interchangeable?
Does anyone know if the keyboards from Tandy 1000/2000/3000 etc are interchangeable? 3000 uses a standard AT keyboard, so it is not compatible with the 1000s and 2000s. The 1000s and 2000s have identical looking keyboards, but the plugs may be different. The keyboard controllers also may not be com...

Re: Composite cable?
No, a standard RCA cable works fine, so there would be no need. There was only an RF modulator and switch box made for the Jr.

Re: PCjr Joystick to Tandy CoCo
You have to open up the stick anyway and connect the third terminal of each potentiometer to ground : http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-pc-joystick-to-tandy-1000-joystick.html Does that apply to the CoCo as well? EDIT: Ah yes, I see it does. Thanks for the tip: http://nerdlypleasures....

Re: PCjr Joystick to Tandy CoCo
I did a PC joystick to Tandy 1000 adapter a long time ago. I can't recall whether the button wires were colored differently inside the joystick, but if they are not, use a multimeter in continuity test mode to figure out which wire goes to which pin. Stick a metal wire or paperclip on the ground pin...

Re: 64k without a floppy drive
Did any of the productivity cartridges other than Cartridge BASIC, like Lotus 1-2-3, allow you to save your work to a cassette tape using the cassette cable?

Re: Tandy video mod
I wish J. Alex posted PCB layouts so other people could have boards made from OSH Park. He shared the design; I believe this is the link: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/9MPsJlrJ It is on my to-do list to build once I build some smaller projects first to get my skills up, something I will be do...

Re: Tandy video mod
There would be interest for sure, especially because there is no known device that can translate 18KHz MDA/Hercules or 21KHz High-Res EGA to VGA. To be fair, VGA is usually very backwards compatible with EGA, so a VGA capture card can usually do justice to EGA output. I know that VGA does not line d...

Re: Tandy video mod
I wish J. Alex posted PCB layouts so other people could have boards made from OSH Park. The through hole design is easy to build and if it works correctly, why bother with something you need to adjust? Was there any particular reason given why the green is off on the bit-c128 board? I would never bu...
