Re: MODEM PROTO BOARD

Yea I thought of the on board crystal, but the Bios was the concern, so I may put the footprint down and play with it as a separate project...

Re: MODEM PROTO BOARD

Spent most of the day laying out a plug in serial card for the modem slot, Kept all the parts SMT, and at 5V levels. this will give the JR a functional RI Ring indicator input for external modems. this is missing on the Back side Serial Port.. Using the system supplied baud freq. 3.579Mhz.scaled dow...

That might work, but I think I want to evaluate the SMT version, I can get it smaller.

Re: MODEM PROTO BOARD

No it was just a basic proto board, not dedicated to any function... But I may have convinced myself that spinning a real board with SMT is the right way to go..... I will work on it this week and decide if I want to hand wire one board or just quickly spin some PCBs with a full blown serial port fu...

MODEM PROTO BOARD

I've seen somewhere there was a protoboard for the modem slot. I plan on writing a short doc on the pitfalls of the Modem slot and the Back side serial port. As many probably know the Jr is not consistent with the Standard PC bios and handles these rather weirdly. Any way I will put together a short...

Re: PCJR Speech Board 'NEW Deisgn'

I've been following your discussion on your 3flop board Chuck. (In this thread and others.) Looking at the schematic, if I follow it right, you can use jumpers (or a switch) to change the assignments of up to three floppies. Do I have this right? For your Kings Quest copy, you did this without rebo...

Re: Bulletin Board for PCJr

I was also thinking RBBS might.....I have a copy and will test when time allows.. but I did get my original BBS I wrote in Pascal up and running 1200 baud :) I could bump it up to 2400 , but will need to write the routines to monitor the Hayes modem response, not a big deal time of course.. if anyon...

Archive Software, What to use....

Back in the day ARC51 et al, was the typical archive program I used..
I've since lost this and before I start to search for this or a similar, figured I would ask what the Jr folks on here reach for
when looking to Archive a program or batch of programs...

keeping in mind this is Jr based storage,
