Re: DOM too old to support LBA access?

I have been using CF to ide adapters but been meaning to pick up a SD to ide adapter as they have dropped in price and SD cards are so much cheaper than CF cards and can get them about anywhere locally. I even thought about Sata to ide adapter as 120 gig SSD are getting really cheap but as most of m...

Re: Testing Tecmar Jr Captain/cadet

Not a bad idea, since you can do a simple hardware mod to a 128K sidecar to allow it to take 4k256 drams, turning it into a 512K sidecar. Warning: This takes a lot of desoldering/resoldering of chips. Actually the Tecmar jrCaptain already has the ram in sockets and a provision to swap a jumper and ...

Re: DOM too old to support LBA access?

Is there a reason you are interested in a DOM over say a CF card with an adapter? I was focusing on DOMs because I got the sense they were spoken of more highly in most of the threads I've looked at here. Not entirely sure why -- maybe lifetime write cycles? Or which are more likely to work with th...

Re: DOM too old to support LBA access?

Is there a reason you are interested in a DOM over say a CF card with an adapter? I have outfitted most of my older systems with CF adapters and they work great. The one I buy costs about $9 usd and then depending on the size of CF you want to use price can vary, but a 16 gig SanDisk CF is about $15...

Re: jrIDE - time for another production run?

I guess I can squeeze a bit more out of my budget for a jrIDE so put me on the list as well.

Re: Ok newbie question(s)

Yes all my PCjrs that came with Qumetrak drives didnt have a T-res but one I got 2nd hand came with the T-res. I thought maybe that drive came out of a 5155 and thats why it had the T-res. I just found it strange that none of the Jrs I have seen dont have a T-res on them when they are the only drive...

Re: JR to LCD monitor

Looks like a really nice unit but I think KenG's suggestion is cheaper and that ebay one doesnt say anything about supporting RGBI.

I'm not a video expert so I may be wrong or confused.

Ok newbie question(s)

I was wondering why the QumeTrak drives I have seen on the PCjr dont have a T-Res. I'm guessing it because of the floppy controller that came with the Jr and that stock Jrs only supported one drive. The following FDC hardware functions are not implemented or supported by the IBM PC jr Diskette Drive...
