Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

It works!!

Thank you so much for the extra help figuring this out. I had been limping along trying to use a linux boot disk on an old laptop. Once I did a full linux install everything behaved much better.

This is great, thanks again!

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

Hello again, I've been following SD-Cart setup guide, using Linux to create a card.img file, then using dosbox to install DOS 5 image files. When trying this method, I'm currently hitting two problems: - In step 4 of the walkthrough, it says to copy any config files or games that might be wanted on ...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

Thanks for the suggested link. I'll definitely pick up a copy of DOS 5.0 if I can't get this to work any other way. I decided I'd give the linux method a go. I booted up an old laptop in Linux and created the image file, and I have images for PC-DOS 5.0. Where wold I get the JRCONFIG.NRD file, and w...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

Hello, I just received the SD-Cart with Boot ROM in the mail! I'm trying to get it set up as a hard drive (preferably drive C:), but not exactly sure what steps to take. The user guide says to use fdisk then format /s. However, my dos floppies are all versions 2.x, and it doesn't look like fdisk is ...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

How does the SD-Cart speed compare to a floppy drive? The simplicity and non-invasive design seem like really nice benefits over an IDE, plus it's another way to move files between a PCjr and a modern PC. Those advantages seem like they'd make this a great starting point, even if it is a little slow.

Starflight on PCjr?

Hello, I recently picked up a copy of Starflight, with the hopes that it would run on my 640k PCjr. I haven't had any luck getting it to load past the 'select graphics mode' screen, having tried all the options. Since then I've read some conflicting reports on whether the game works at all on a PCjr...

Re: PS2 Dongle / TandyMod Brd Finished

Hello, I'm looking to make some modifications to my PCjr, and it seems like a TandyMod would be a great place to start. Are boards of either design (chuck or ziggy's) available? Also, I don't currently have any way to communicate files between a modern system and my PCjr. Do I need to run any additi...

Re: Floppy Drive won't Write

Thanks for the reply.

The jumper was set to DS0. I changed it to DS1 and everything works! It was a bit of a squeeze to get the drive in place, but now it's working perfectly.

All the best,

Floppy Drive won't Write

Hello! This is my first post on this forum. Glad to join the group! I've been poking around the internet trying to resolve various issues with the PCjr I got from my older brother. It's a rather nice specimen, with the better keyboard, optical mouse, and modded memory sidecar bringing it up to 640k....
