Different Basic Cartridges
I was wondering if anyone knew the story behind the differences in these cartridges. The left one has a different number 1502285 vs 1502460. The other two have similar stickers but the rightmost says "Made in USA" and the cartridge is longer fully covering the pin connectors. https://lh3.g...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge

Writes appear to be marginally faster on MMC cards, but those can be more difficult/expensive to find it seems. At the moment the limit is 2GB. Larger cards use block addressing (instead of byte addressing) ...

Waiting eagerly on mine. Any recommendations on what SD cards I should pick up for it?raphnet wrote:Hello!
Has anyone received and used their SD-Cart JR yet? I would like to know how you use it (with the boot ROM, or with the device driver?) and what you think may need improvement.

Re: Diskette Drive Modification
Weeeeell I spoke to soon. Something is borked. When copying files to a freshly formatted diskette I get this error "cannot make directory entry". I've had it on two disks. One got about 50% full and then failed the other got about 80% full and then failed. Googling makes it sound like this...

Diskette Drive Modification
Heya! I am continuing on the PCjr quest. I haven't been able to get the PCjr from my childhood working yet. But I have grabbed the modified diskette controller from it and have put it in a working PCjr. After getting it all plugged in and modifying my config.sys to add /d to 'DEVICE=JRCONFIG.SYS /d2...

Uh Oh - Two Beeps
I have a few PCjrs I have collected over the years (including the original one my father bought back in the day) and I got my jrIDE working and booting DOS 5.0 on one machine (more on that later). So, I thought I would try to troubleshoot one of the machines I've been getting a double beep on. I sta...
