Yeah, one is coming, as well as a connector cable since I can't find mine at the moment, so one way or the other I should be good again.Brutman wrote:So, what's the plan for the keyboard? Are you ebaying for a new one?

Re: Dug our my jr
SUCCESS!!! I got my 5 1/4" IBM drive I ordered off of ebay and ran upstairs and plugged it in. This one WORKS! So my old drive has some sort of issue, I'll put it aside for now and attempt to clean it or something more thoroughly (rails, etc.). Now if I just had a keyboard I could use, I'm stuc...

Re: 5 1/4 controller?
How about a SCSI controller with a built on floppy controller? I think they have their own BIOS. Unfortunately the only one I had lying around was an old Vesa Local Bus card, lol. I'm trying to locate a PCI one through folks I know.

Re: Boot and video problems
Boot problems solved, thx for your help. My boot disk must be bad...... Really surprised I don't have a back up. Sooooooooo, now I can boot from my DOS 2.1 disk. Could I buy a DOS 5.x disk from you? Need to re-learn what device drivers and such I will need to add. Also... could I trouble you to rem...

Does anyone know what I can use as a floppy controller that will work with the old double density 5 1/4" drives on a new system? I just realized my new system only handles one floppy drive and it only knows about 3 1/2" drives! :o . So unless I build an old machine back up again, I'm witho...

Re: Dug our my jr
Most of your system description I understand, except for the '32kb expansion module' and the 'PC Enterprises 1.2MB parallel port (I believe) expansion via sidecar'. Is the 32kb expansion module the memory card in the machine? If so, that's actually a 64K card. Is the PC Enterprises option an extern...

Re: BBTER (Was: Introduce yourself!)
If your floppy needs to be re-aligned then it will require an oscilloscope and a special disk called, appropriately, an alignment disk. Most likely a new floppy drive would cost less than the alignment disk! If the cleaning instructions don't help then you will most likely need to replace the drive...

Dug our my jr
I dug my old PCjr out of the closet this past week. I've had it since my dad brought it home when I was about 8 and was my first exposure to computers. Good times with that computer :). Here's what I've got: PCjr IR keyboard 32 kB expansion module PC Enterprises 1.2MB parallel port (I believe) expan...
