Re: DskImage Error

Whew, I was beginning to think that this forum was completely dead ... The error message says it has a read error on drive B, first track, first head, first sector. (Sectors are numbered starting from 1 instead of 0.) What OS are you running under? I get some occasional weirdness if I run under Win...

DskImage Error

Mike, I'm using your DskImage utility to backup a bunch of my old disks. And I get peculiar behavior on a few of my 1.44 MB 3 1/3" disks. I'm running the program as "dskimage 01:80:02:18 disk1.dsk" And the disk lights up and runs for a few seconds, but then the floppy drive stops runn...

Re: DOS networking programs?

You are only a day or two off .. you could have connected to a PCjr with your telnet client yesterday. :-) Have you checked my web pages at http://www.brutman.com/Dos_Networking? I've got an IRC client out there that runs well on the Jr. NCSA is the best Telnet client, and it has a good FTP server ...

DOS networking programs?

Okay, I got my Xircom adapter working on my jr (I think), and I tried the telnet client, but didn't have anything to connect to at the moment. Anyway, are there any recommended programs to have under DOS for networking? i.e. ftp...I'm assuming there's nothing samba like so I can remote mount my othe...

Re: MicroSolutions Backpack Floppy Driver?

Well, the manual is of great help, but the driver still won't recognize my drive as a 3 1/2" drive. It always thinks it's a 5 1/4". I'm not sure how it's determining this. I can't find any jumpers or anything to switch. Somehow the driver talks to the parallel to floppy chipset or somethin...

How can I get them to you?
Awesome, that could help me a lot.

I'm not sure how to send a PM through this board, and it doesn't appear that my e-mail address is visible either.

Thanks!

Re: System disk creation

Okay, found out apparently I don't have DOS 3.3, the disk was labeled incorrectly. So on a related note, I have DOS 2.1 and the files for DOS 3.3 (on a 3 1/4" disk), however, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get a new system disk made on a 5 1/4" DD disk. I can't run sys.com on...

MicroSolutions Backpack Floppy Driver?

Does anyone have or know where I can find an updated version, or even just a manual for the MicroSolutions Backpack Floppy option? I have a 5 1/4" HD drive expansion from them that mounts to an extra parallel port, but the driver I have appears to be a bit older and I can't find any documentati...

Re: Recommended DOS version

I have seen mention of patches needed for certain versions of DOS to work on the PCjr, can anyone point me to them? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Thanks
Jason
