Introduce yourself!

Say hello here!

Introduce yourself!

Postby Brutman » Thu Jul 17, 2008 8:33 pm

Things are a little slow as we are just starting out, and there are some new names here. To help 'break the ice' I've created this forum area.

I encourage anybody who is new to start a new thread here to say Hi! introduce yourself. Some things which might be interesting to know are:

  • How is the PCjr you are using the most configured?
  • How did you get interested in the PCjr?
  • What are you looking to do with it?

You get the idea ...

Just to get started, I'm your host. :-) I have too many PCjrs, but the machine I use on a regular basis looks like this:

  • 640KB via an upgraded IBM memory sidecar
  • NEC V20 CPU, single floppy drive, no motherboard mods
  • IBM Parallel port sidecar modified to be bi-directional
  • IBM Parallel port sidecar modified to be LPT2 and bi-directional
  • Power sidecar
  • Speech sidecar
  • IBM PC 5150 keyboard connected via a Racore keyboard adapter
  • Bridge-888 parallel-to-SCSI adapter on LPT1 driving a 544MB Fujitsu SCSI drive
  • Xircom PE3-10BT parallel-to-Ethernet adapter on LPT2
  • Patched IBM DOS 5.02

I've been a PCjr owner for 24 years now. I started the web page in 2000 after 'rediscovering' the joy of the little machine.

I'm working on a telnet BBS program that will run on a PCjr. So far I have the TCP/IP part pretty well done. I have some simple applications for it, and I'm working my way up to bigger and more complex applications as I test everything.

Ok, your turn!
