James - I used to have a PCjr at work too. But I also kept one at home for personal use. :-) Don't worry, we will make an exception for you.

Everybody:

I plan to be online with the PCjr from 6pm to 10pm PST. Here is the connection information:

- Server: irc.slashnet.org
- Channel: #pcjr

There are a gazillion IRC clients out there, including some that run inside a browser. Don't be scared if you have never used IRC before ... it's not all scum and villany. ;-0

It's a cold and rainy day here in the Pacific Northwest so I can't do the usual yard work ...

So, if anybody is so inclined, hop on IRC! I'm on Slashnet at #pcjr and will linger there all day if you want to pop in.

For those of you not schooled in the finer points of IRC 'leetspeak', here is the English translation. Find an IRC client and set the server to irc.slashnet.org. Log in and then join channel #pcjr. (Channel names always start with the # sign.) Contrary to popular belief, IRC is not full of criminals and hackers ... you will not get a virus by doing this.

Common IRC clients include mIRC (http://www.mirc.com/) which has been around forever and runs on Windows, CIRC which runs as a Chrome Browser extension, IRCjr (http://www.brutman.com/mTCP/IRCjr.html) which runs on your properly equipped DOS machine and PCjrs, etc. There are a ton of good IRC clients out there.

See you online!
Mike
