I have two PCjr motherboards that are in perfect working order other than a broken rear connector pin each. One has a broken joystick pin and the other has a broken lower right display pin (which I believe is the vertical signal). I've read this is easy to fix by cutting and replacing with an unused pin, but looking at the board closely, I have no idea how to get to the bottom row of pins. It looks to be advance surgery beyond my skill set.
Does anybody have experience fixing broken pins?
Thanks
Broken Connector Pins
Re: Broken Connector Pins
I decided not to attempt to repair my broken monitor pin for fear of destroying the motherboard. Instead I bypassed the pin with a TexElec board and it works! I plan to do the same on my other unit with the broken joystick pins.
Unfortunately, this PCjr will never use an original monitor again
