One step closer to complete Kings Quest
I picked up the red label floppy today, so now just now need the keyboard overlay and warranty registration card, if there was one. Does anyone have either of these they aren't asking a mint for? I'll accept either the full or partial overlay.

Yes. The IBM gray clamshell case and red label floppy version. I'm not paying $300 for it complete, that's for sure.Chuckphd53 wrote:Is this the Original First Version?

Not sure there was either in the original version. Collectively we brought back 6-7 IBM copies from CRW all shrink wrapped. The only thing in the one I kept was the red label floppy and user manual. I was giving away extra copies to club members I knew wanted one to keep at out last meeting.OldComputerGuy wrote:...now need the keyboard overlay and warranty registration card, if there was one.

There were two styles of keyboard overlay, from what I have been able to find. A full overlay for the chiclet keyboard and a mini overlay for the full stroke keyboard.I'm not sure about a warranty registration card, but a lot of games would come with one back then.alanh wrote:Not sure there was either in the original version. This is the full overlay. The mini overlay is just a strip across the top of the keyboard. If you see anyone selling what they claim to be a "complete" copy for an outrageous price that does not have the overlay, it is not complete. I think I have seen maybe 3 copies in total on eBay that had a keyboard overlay. 2 had the full overlay and one had the mini overlay. Every other one I have seen did not have either overlay, yet claimed to be "complete".

Re: One step closer to complete Kings Quest
wow nice..
is there a good JPG that a copy can be made from.??
My wife does crafting and has the Cricut and a ton of other things and types of paper
for printing etc..
I bet she can make a pretty good copy, at least I'd like to give it a go just to have one..

Re: One step closer to complete Kings Quest
I found that instead of a warranty registration card, they included a card with an offer to purchase a backup copy of the game for $20, so I need one of those
I am thinking that obtaining that or one of the keyboard overlays separately is going to be close to impossible.
