I was also wondering about the monitor used with a JX. I saw pictures of it displaying kanji. Is it higher resolution or multi-sync like EGA displays?
Or is it otherwise an ordinary (except for the connector shape) CGA monitor? There are two reasons why I want to know:
If I bought a set (computer and monitor) and the monitor were to break during shipping, what would be my display option? Would I be
able to use my CGA to RGB adapter and Sony PVM setup I already have for my PCjr? (after building whatever adapters are required of course).
And if I had a functional JX monitor, would it be compatible with my regular PCjr? (again, I would build the needed adapters)
Also, has the JX no composite video output? I do not see a composite video out.

Re: IBM JX monitor compatibility
I use mine with a NEC Multisync II. I tried plugging mine into a CGA monitor but the picture rolls, I think because the sync signals are inverted. That would be an easy fix though.
