Dos 4.01 game graphics issues

I seem to be running into game graphic issues with TandyMod and Dos 4.01. I was trying to use a 256MB CF card with JRIde and needed the larger drive support. I gave 3.31 (compaq) a shot but it seemed to have issues formatting and fdisk the drive. 4.01 formatted and set the drive up great and all is well for booting and running pcjr software. Tandy software is back to venetian blinds, but actually worse than before the Tandy mod. Any ideas?
