We've tried IRC chat with limited success. Perhaps we should try a video meet-up to say hello?

I'm not thinking of anything too formal - believe me, my basement bunker/home office is as bad as you imagine, and possibly worse. But I wouldn't mind putting some faces to names and "shooting the breeze" for an hour or so, and I think it would be pretty fun. I would use Google Meet - it's quite usable, it just requires a browser, and no explicit sign-in or Google email is required.

Any thoughts? If we do it I'm thinking of a weekend during an evening time slot that works well for most of the US. (If anybody outside of the US wants to join let me know and I can adjust accordingly ... I know we have some fans in Japan and Australia.)

I would be game. I have been using your disk image tool for so long I kind of feel like I know you Would be nice to put a face with the name, and image tool!! Chris

Not an overwhelming response so far but I suspect more people will come out of the woodwork ... I'll schedule something for next weekend.

(I was hoping for this weekend, but I knew I'd be traveling soon and it happened sooner than I thought. In this region we have to avoid bad weather in the mountain passes, so I was expecting to be at home this weekend but I left two days early.)

Shall we try for tomorrow at 7PM Pacific Time? (That is 03:00 2021-01-18 UTC for the rest of the world.)

If so respond to this post, send me a private message or send and email and I'll send the meeting link to you. No special sign-ons will be required; just a web browser with the link will work.

• While Google Meets should work with Firefox, there might be problems. Chrome on the desktop or the Google Meets app on a tablet or phone should be bullet-proof

We should do another session in a few weeks.
