Hi everyone! Trying to troubleshoot my PCjr + jrIDE + (dubious CF card + reader) setup, and I'm trying to locate a comprehensive list of switches and arguments for JRCONFIG.SYS. I did find some of these options in the "PC Enterprises Combo Cartridge" PDF that Mike has archived, but I'd love to see a breakdown of the different versions of JRCONFIG and the various ways to customize it.

If this already exists and my Google-fu isn't strong enough, I'd be grateful for a point in the right direction.

P.S. - my apologies if I've started this thread in the wrong forum, as now that I refresh my memory on the layout, this isn't so much "programming" as "configuration" ...

My PCjr has been in a closet for a couple of years, and I'm finding I've forgotten a lot of what I learned before ...

I try not to use RTFM anymore ... especially as I get older and more mellow. ;-0

On a related note, is it time to start a wiki? I have a private server for brutman.com, and a lot of what I have on the static web pages would probably be pretty good information for a wiki. It might also help with making things more searchable.

(I've been thinking about it. And this post just reminds me of how important easy to find documentation is.)

Topic deserves a new thread at this point, but a wiki would be great because others could update it.

There's a lot of new, interesting, background info that has cropped up on the Facebook PCjr group that you've missed because you don't do facebook; one of the original hardware designers has posted neat stuff over the past 3 years. That kind of information could be recorded in the wiki as well, to be more searchable and survive Meta's whims.

I stood up a mediawiki instance inside a docker container and it wasn't too bad; used docker-compose to enforce dependency order. A decent instance would be 4 containers: reverse proxy (if you don't already have one, so you can hide multiple websites on a single machine), mediawiki, mysql or mariadb for the database, and a database daily export service for the 4th, because backups.

I'm more than happy to do it, but let's talk offline about how to get the FB users to contribute to it.

FB is a problem because it's a walled garden. If registering for a web forum is too much friction, then I don't know how a wiki is going to make things different. It's certainly not as casual as just popping into FB and leaving a comment on the wall.

I was implying that enterprising individuals with free time would manually contribute useful content they see popping up on the facebook group.

People on facebook generally prefer to just jot ideas down in the moment, and most would not be willing to sign in to a different forum or contribute to a wiki (although a few are diligent about uploading scanned material to archive.org).
