Greetings from Australia

Recently I have had a bout of nostalgia and started researching the IBM PCjr, which was my first PC.
I grew up using one of these as a child, in Australia. As you can imagine, I was surprised to learn that apparently they were never released here! As my Dad worked at IBM at the time, I have a couple of ideas.
A rare and/or unofficial release
Some mod applied by IBM/3rd party hardware engineers to get them to work in Australia
Less likely - I have no recollection of a 240v > 120v converter or transformer being used. I moved this PC around a number of times and it plugged directly into the mains.
Either way due to a lack of and/or no units here, I've started buying parts/units from the US/Candana. Almost there apart from a blown power supply and cracked front monitor during transit.
