Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but it's been a long time so I've forgotten how my old system used to work.
I put my HD 5 1/4" drive onto my PCjr (PC Enterprises backpack drive through parallel port 2), and I have the following questions/problems:
1) the original TEAC HD driv just drives the head to the inside of the disk and makes a horrile noise over and over again, the stepper motor just drives it all the way to the stop...any ideas? (rails have been cleaned/oiled)
2) I grabbed another TEACH HD 5 1/4" drive I had laying around and it appears to work fine, except. It won't read DD disks. It seems okay with HD ones, but not DD. Is that normal?
3) Can a regular 3 1/2" drive be subsituted for the backback drive? I seem to recall something about if they have the same number of physical tracks it will work?
