I have an 8GB DOM in mine, which is loaded with every game known to run on the PCjr and using TDL as the front-end launcher.

Is the jrIDE still coming with the 40-pin IDE header? Are you powering your DOM from the jrIDE, or using external power?

I think that part would work fine - it is a disk on module. Check the data sheet: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/24/A ... 957962.pdf

In general, it's easier if you get one that matches the pins of the system you are connecting it to. Otherwise, there are adapters that go both ways. The biggest difference between laptop IDE and desktop IDE is the four extra pins, two of which provide power. (Not sure about the other two ... Google can help figure it out if you are curious.)

Do you have this available anywhere? How much space does it actually use?

I bought the 16GB Hotusi (Hyperdisk) DOM, but I get the too old for LBA message.

I will try the 4GB version and also order a 2GB CF Card + Adapter.

It's not easy finding smaller capacity DOMs with the 40-pin interface...

I haven't been looking for 4GB, but as noted in my adjacent thread, I found that a Hyperdisk 512MB DOM and a Lexar 2GB CF card were both recognized. I have a Kingspec 8GB DOM on order from China, and will try it out when it gets here (~2 weeks+?).

So I've got a few more devices and still not able to boot from anything.

Hyperdisk 4GB DOM - Not recognized (aka "too old for LBA")
Hyperdisk 16GB DOM - Not Recognized
Sandisk 32GB CF - Not Recognized
Transcend 2GB CF - Recognized but won't boot on any of my PCs

So I'm not sure what the deal is. I installed DOS 6.22 to the 16GB Hyperdisk DOM and I can boot to it on my big x86 PC. But when I install DOS 6.22 to the CF cards, my x86 can't boot them.
I was reading online and seems people report issues booting from CF cards, possibly due to IDE compatibility issues? Possibly my CF to IDE converter isn't ideal?
My next shot is to try an SD to IDE converter card.

In the meantime, can anyone provide links to valid, known-working hardware on ebay or amazon (or similar)? I really do not care to have a long IDE cable hanging off my jr-IDE, but I don't have much option left...

I'll have the SD-to-IDE and the 44-to-40 pin adapter sometime next week.
Honestly, the male 40-pin seems to be a tricky fit. Most products are either 44-pin female or 40-pin male...
