I know there are a few more folks that want this for their Jr's....so they will come next...
Below are links for the pictures, if the attached is not shown fully on your screen...Please refer to these...
Included in THIS kit is the SPRINT parts but also has a solder sucker, wick, and some solder.
The solder sucker and wick can be bought on EBAY from china from about $1 each if you want these yourself.
I only wanted to offer a few for the folks that don't normally do this kind of work and do not have these on hand.
All the boards will have the surface mount parts attached, the only thing left would be the headers/connector.
You will need to remove your Jr's8284 chip and reuse on this board. 1ea. 8284 chip is included for position U3 on the board, your MB chip can go in position U2.
There are 2 ea thru hole male to male headers that are used in position U1, the short leads will be soldered to the bottom of the SPRINT board so it can be plugged into your PC Motherboard.
SEE bottom picture of stacked connectors:
The longer thin lead will plug into the headers supplied you will solder to your MB after you remove the MB 8284 chip.
SEE bottom picture of stacked connectors:
I have included an extra set of headers to use on the MB to help lift the board a little higher.
The other headers you can use to solder to the top side of the SPRINT brd and 'PLUG' the 8284 chips into.
One Item you will find during this install is there is a small can electrolytic cap soldered near the MB 8284 chip, it stands proud of the MB and kind of gets in the way of the new SPRINT board.
If you look at the bottom of the MB at the cap leads you will see there is a little extra lead protruding thru the MB .
Using your solder iron heat up the two cap leads from the bottom side of your MB and pull the cap out a little, this will allow you lay the cap on it's side lower to the MB and keeping it away from the SPRINT board bottom side.
On my board I just removed it and soldered it to the bottom of the MB, BUT, BUT, BUT if you do this make sure you NOTE which leads go in to the correct holes as this is a polarized cap and it does matter !
TAKE PICTURES WITH YOUR PHONE FOR REFERENCE!
NOTE: this is a kit and I cannot predict your success, but if you want me to solder the headers and parts to the board and 'test' it before shipping I will outline this below...
Clean with alcohol all soldering you do.
Kit Price is $27, this includes Priority USPS shipping in one of the small boxes to keep the parts from getting crushed or damaged. USA shipping only for now.
if you want me to build and test, $30
the next 10 kits will not have the solder sucker/solder/wick included and these will be $25 includes shipping.
and these will only ship as built up units and tested and ship USPS small box priority.
NOTE: if you want an extra 8284 chip because you plan on just CUTTING your MB chip out and removing the cut pins, which is much easier if you are not experienced in removing chips,
then you will need to just add a note and add $4.50 for the extra chip.
There is about $3 built into the pricing to help pay for my time to solder the SMT parts on the board, make shipping labels and get boxes from the Post office and make the trips back and forth.
Now if you feel I don't deserve this, then heck, let me know......
HOW TO ORDER....: the first 5 kits as shown above will ship when I get the solder wick, I hope this coming week, all other parts are here.
SO: the first 5 folks that respond to this THREAD will leave me a private msg with your ship address and I will send you my PayPal infor.
I know some folks want two kits, let me know in the private msg and I can include in these kits another set of parts only.
Please only 5 responses to this thread, if you have questions use the earlier thread on the PCSPRINT I created to ask please...
I will create the next Thread for the next set of kits and do the same process for them.
(PS, I hope Mike does not mind this process )
Please Be patient with my response time, work and life surely interrupts my playtime as with all of us but I will do my best to be prompt.
thanks
Chuck
