Orchestra Trumpet Monitor.
This may be a thread that is more suitable for the VCF, but since I'm not a member there, I'll post this here. I have a monitor I got my hands on over nine years ago that has been stored away most of the time I owned it to some issues, but its simple form has always been attractive to me, so I kept...

Re: Color display won't power on!
I think I'll have another look at this tomorrow.
It's kind of bugging me how I can't figure this out and I kind of miss the thing.

Re: Color display won't power on!
I'll have to check mine. For some reason I was thinking it was the PC Color Display that had a schematic in there rather than the PCjr Color Display. Ah ha! I'll bet you're right. I didn't notice that. The manual talks about the IBM Color Display in the sections before it and mentions that you must...

The reference has that? I wasn't sure if it would, but I'll have to check it out.

Re: Color display won't power on!
Well, my approach would be to take a multimeter and just follow the power into the monitor (being careful not to shock yourself, of course), through each component, looking up datasheets for anything I'm not familiar with, until I reach something that's not doing what it's supposed to. It's hard to...

Re: Color display won't power on!
Is there anything I should try? Should I take pictures and record stuff? Maybe post a 4K video?
I feel that I'm at the point to where I can use a little hand-holding. Not spoon-feeding, but you know.

Re: Color display won't power on!
Man, I wish I could look at it in person... I bet I could diagnose the problem if I could. I doubt we live close enough, though. Never ran into anyone else on any of these forums from the Kansas/Oklahoma area. So close but so far. I live in around this red dot http://pics2.city-data.com/city/maps/f...

Re: Color display won't power on!
I checked every diode I can find, they all seem to be fine. I've also reconnected all of the connectors in case something worked its way out over the last thirty years and nothing. No LED, no hum or buzz, nothing I can tell. The thing just doesn't wanna turn on for some reason. Would it be a good id...

Re: Bringing one back to life.
Just a long shot but look bent or shorted pins on the sidecar and back. I have had a bent pin create a no POST situation I remember you bringing that up before, I've also seen some other people mention the same problem. I've actually seen these results happen with the CPU not being seated properly,...

Re: Color display won't power on!
You know, I wonder if there's a relay in there that's just not making contact anymore? That happened with my current TV a couple of times. I haven't checked the PCjr monitor for anything like that. I think I may have seen a relay in there. I'll have to check. I crashed right after uploading those p...
