Re: Hardware Demos
Ahh thanks for the links! I've pulled myself out of this rabbit hole for now. Spent a lot of time on pouet.net and am able to navigate it a little better. I'll look forward to viewing the short and exploring the other links you sent. Should be a good start on diving back in

Re: Greetings from Australia
I heard there is another version of the PCjr called the PCjx. From what I understand it's basically the same hardware in a black formfactor. I was also led to believe that this was the model available in Japan, Austrailia and New Zealand. I've seen pictures but never one in person. Have you ever see...

Hardware Demos
So I stumbled across SHAKEjr and INTROjr which I have downloaded and ran on my PCjr. They are fantastic and I recognize at least one of the coders from posts on this forum. I guess that's not too surprising really but I was kindof surprised that there isn't any threads dedicated to these specific de...

Re: JrIDE and a CF card
I got this issue resolved. The short story is I found a 64MB Cisco flash card to use and it worked out okay. I copied everything off the old flash card after it wouldn't boot and when I copied it back over to the new flash card it started acting flakey again. Not like booting issue but corrupt direc...

Re: JrIDE and a CF card
Reviving this thread again - had the exact same scenario happen: Running some software that froze up and when I restarted got a non-system disk error. Used a boot disk and could still see the contents of the CF card but couldn't boot from it. Tried several things to no avail finally deleting, rebuil...

Re: DOS Program Menu System
Can you go into some more detail about this? I actually picked up a NIB copy of FDO a few years ago but never really looked into how it worked. I ended up making my own (messy) batch file menu system but it's kind of slow and a pain to update. Sure. So after it installs there is a DOS Commands menu...

Sidecar shell
Having a hell of a time finding a sidecar shell to mount my Jr IDE in. I see memory expansions and parallel ports on ebay but don't really want to cannibalize functioning equipment. Anybody on this forum have a shell they would be willing to part with or know of a source to get one 3-D printed perha...

Re: DOS Program Menu System
Thought I would post about the menu system I decided to use: FDO or Fixed Disk Organizer is some IBM software I stumbled across on Ebay which was quite a struggle to get working but after figuring it out I was really impressed with how clever it's operation is. The biggest hurdle was the software is...
