Re: PCjr Hardware/ROM questions
Has anyone written a small program to help calculate the CRC values for cartridges? I did briefly look for the routine in the BIOS and found it but am not familiar enough to determine exactly what it is doing, although I bet it's fairly basic. I also wrote a tool, it is part of booterify, see jrrom...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
Ok, so I installed DOS 5 and after step 3, it boots fine in DOSBox. Note that I used -size 512,63,255,123 everywhere. I took detailed notes of what I did, see below. Could you try doing exactly as I did, and confirm if it works? mkdir workdir cd workdir # For a card with CHS=123,255,63 # 63 * 123 * ...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
- Just to confirm I'm doing this right, my SD-Cart bios gave the CHS numbers as 123,255,63. While following the walkthrough, I should be substituting those numbers into the Dosbox settings, correct? So the setup for step 3 (to install dos) would look like: -noautoexec -c "mount c ." -c &q...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
- In step 4 of the walkthrough, it says to copy any config files or games that might be wanted on the SD card. I'm able to copy individual files, but can't figure out how to copy a folder full of games. XCOPY isn't a viable command in dosbox. The alternative I've found online is to use the REN (ren...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
This is just a suggestion, and perhaps this has already been done, and I have missed it. But, as you are updating your files, would it be possible to add the ability to insert flags when loading the driver file (non boot rom version) in the config.sys (e.g. -Y = yes load driver, vs asking Y/N). Yes...

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
Yes, first there are some things I want to add to the driver and surrounding tools, then I'll release a new package.jscrow wrote:The new version of the boot rom sounds great! Are you going to make available for download on the project page?

Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
Yes - that would be something I would purchase! Thanks Out of stock? Any more coming soon? Re: SD-Cart JR: An MMC/SD card reader cartridge
Out of stock? Any more coming soon? Yes, very soon in 1 to 3 weeks (waiting for parts...) So if I'm understanding this right, the SD-Cart can basically act as a SD card powered Hard Drive? If one were to use this in conjunction with a 640K RAM sidecar, could you replace the JrIDE? The only missing ...

IBM JX monitor compatibility
I was also wondering about the monitor used with a JX. I saw pictures of it displaying kanji. Is it higher resolution or multi-sync like EGA displays? Or is it otherwise an ordinary (except for the connector shape) CGA monitor? There are two reasons why I want to know: If I bought a set (computer an...
