Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
I guess it's possible, but I can't see why that would be. I can turn off the thin font, but I can't remove it since it's a drop in replacement chip. Turning the normal 'fat' font back on didn't help. What I can do is see if one of these games is something I already have on my hard drive and try runn...

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
That's weird. I was either getting reboots on everything or that gray file manager screen. My system has the following setup: DOS 5.0 Tandy Mod Thin Font module JrIDE card Backpack 3.5 drive (assigned to drive B) That's it. Nothing else special about it. Why am I getting a bunch of reboots? The syst...

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
I can try this on my 5150+XT-IDE card and see if I get similar issues.

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
No I don't, I guess that's not the same version. I'll post the version I have when I get home if you still need it.Trixter wrote: The backpack.sys driver you posted has some 80186 instructions in it (pusha/popa). Does your PCjr use an NEC V20?

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
Sure I'll get that up tomorrow. IIRC it gives you an error if the drive isn't attached but still loads it into memory.

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
Actually I don't think swapping has anything to do with the backpack driver one way or another. I thought it did, but I get reboots either way if I have the backpack driver loaded. BTW I don't think you actually need a backpack drive to test the driver, you can probably just load the driver on its o...

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
Yes I can use the thicker font to make it a little easier to read the TDL menu. but I think it looks ugly for regular DOS use. Is there a way or future plans to change the colors on the menu? Like white text on a black background or something? Turning swapping off seems to have fixed my issue. I sti...

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
It's the PCEnterprises Thin Font module. It's made for a PCjr so it should be safe. EDIT: Ok it looks like the backpack driver is the issue. Why would that cause a problem? Also many games seem to want to dump me to a gray file select screen that says List File Selection at the top and nothing to se...

Re: "Fill your jrIDE" project now ready for testing
The gray on my monitor looks a bit darker. Maybe my tube is going or something? The picture below is very washed out looking unfortunately: http://atariprotos.com/temp/pcjr.jpg 0FreeRAM says I have 571KB free and does not reboot the system. Here are my config.sys, atuoexec.bat, and tdl.log files. 57...
