Re: Last Year for Games
I only tried Castlevania for the curiosity factor, not a big loss. Same deal with Metal Gear, although I couldn't get past the title screen on that one. Contra ran well, albeit in CGA. Both Double Dragon games did as well, but they had graphical glitches which I assume are from a bad crack or they d...

Last Year for Games
What's the general consensus on the last year for games to run at a reasonable speed on the PCjr? I tried a bunch of games that supported Tandy graphics from 90-91 but they were way too slow to play (Castlevania was particularly funny to watch as Simon inched his way across the screen like he was a ...

Re: Do .COM or .EXE Files Exist For These Games?
I think I have a file for Mineshaft somewhere. No idea where it came from.
EDIT: Ok the file says it was converted by DemonLord and that it has issues with the sound.

Re: Do .COM or .EXE Files Exist For These Games?
Has Microsurgeon been converted to a .com or .exe file? I thought all the cartridge games had been at this point.

Re: Do .COM or .EXE Files Exist For These Games?
Believe me, a better system is coming. But that's OT for this forum. I'll make an announcement when things are ready to test though. The launcher's second set of features will include writing unprotected booter diskette images back to diskette as a convenience. Sounds great, I can't wait. The simpl...

Re: Do .COM or .EXE Files Exist For These Games?
I added Touchdown Football to the list as well. The menu system is something Trixter prepared for Mike Lee to display games at the MGC. It's basically a batchfile menu system. Low tech, but it works nicely and is obviously pretty easy to modify. I saw it running and thought it was just the thing I n...

Do .COM or .EXE Files Exist For These Games?
I'm in the middle of making my menu driven game selector for my PCjr (actually I'm modifying a very nice existing one), but I've run into a problem. There are several older games that only seem to exist as .img files and not as .COM or .EXE files. The odd thing is that some old games have been conve...

Re: My Kings Quest Disk Has Gone Bad
Just a little update on this. As it turns out it was my disk drive that was bad, I got a new one and everything works just fine now.

You really are committed to making sure everything is 100% working with your products. I really admire that, too many people these days are of the "Eh, good enough" attitude.

Re: My Kings Quest Disk Has Gone Bad
I decided to test some of my other original disks to see if they've gone bad and found a few: The Worlds Greatest Baseball game Trivia 103 (Challenges for Young People) 3-K Trivia - I got 3-K Trivia to load once, but the loading screen was all messed up (game seemed ok once it started though). I won...
