Re: Internal 512k expansion?
Would your design accommodate 640kb and allow us to get the full 768k of RAM into the thing?

Re: Internal 512k expansion?
I read through this thread and I am not quite sure what it is you are building here. Is it a PCB that will replace the CPU and add in the extra 640kb of RAM, or are you building a small daughter board that will be wired into the memory sockets on the board? I'd be very interested in buying your fini...

Re: MS-DOS 5 issues
Yeah it shows up for me now. Must have been a cache thing since I did refresh it a few times.

Re: Keyboard cables
What is the problem with the end that goes to the computer? The pins are fine, there is wear on the cable where it meets the connector and I have to jiggle and bend it to get it to work. It looks like the connector was crimped onto the cable. You can imagine how annoying it is to get the keyboard t...

Re: Keyboard cables
Nah, there's not really a DIY way to run any keyboard but the PCjr keyboard from the back. I mean, it could be done, but you'd have to figure out the differences in the codes sent from each keyboard and use a microcontroller to convert them and such. Kind of complicated. There were commercial produ...

Re: MS-DOS 5 issues
To get the keyboard working, add STACKS=0,0 to config.sys. I had the same problem with JRCONFIG. I had to grab version 3 to get it to work. File name is JRCONFIG.SYS, and you add a -R if you want a drive letter assigned to your RAM disk. Ahh, thanks. I'll give that a try later. Can you point me in ...

What is the Tandy Mod?Trixter wrote:While I have a "superjr" (7.16 Mhz NEC V20, 640KB without use of sidecar, Tandy mod) and a regular stock Jr with a 512K sidecar, I mostly use mine to play Jr-specific games and run Jr-specific programs.

Why Re-invent the wheel
I was thinking more about the second eclosure and the specs we would be looking for: 1. External 5.25" Bay 2. Internal 3.5" Bay 3. Its own PSU and cooling 4. Slots on the back for ISA cards (2 or 3) And it occured to me that specs read pretty much like a standard PC case. So why re-invent ...

Keyboard cables
So the keyboard cable I have is having issues as near as I can tell the problem is at both ends (behind the connectors). I can replace the RJ11 end easily, but how do I fix the other end? While I am at it, is there a way to run a normal XT keyboard off the port on the back? I am hoping there are som...
