Re: King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
Follow-up: I managed to snag the PC/PCjr booter version off of eBay on Friday. Going to send it to Hargle once I've confirmed it's a working copy so we can get an unspoiled set of images for the disks.

Re: King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
Verdict: no-go. I removed the memory sidecar, checked the 64k upgrade card, and I'm still getting the same result. The 1.1h images work great in DOSBox, but not on my PCjr hardware. There's an actual set of KQ2 booter disks up on eBay right now that I'm going to try to nab if they don't get too expe...

Re: King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
Thx, I'll try that tonight. I'm hoping it doesn't have something to do with the TDC 1.1h .IMG files being cracked versions, and somehow not playing nice with actual PCjr hardware. I'll post an update.

King's Quest II Booters on PCjr
I have some interest in getting the old 1.0w and 1.1h booter versions of King's Quest II working on my PCjr, but all the .IMG files I've tried don't seem to work. Version 1.0w cycles endlessly during initial loading, and 1.1h throws up a memory error saying 128k of memory is required to run the game...

Re: GOG Games on PCjr
Update - you were absolutely right about the label, Trixter. I copied King's Quest 2's disk images to actual floppies (which preserved the labels) and then replaced "sierra.com" with "kq2.com" from my GOG downloads. Worked like a charm.

Re: GOG Games on PCjr
Thanks for the link and I'll definitely double-check the volume labels, that could very well be the problem.

GOG Games on PCjr
I've been futzing about with trying to get a few GOG games to run on my Jr. I don't currently have a mass storage device - just sporting a single 512k memory attachment. The tricky part is getting the games separated into individual 360k floppies. Here's a few I've tried: Space Quest 1 Space Quest 2...

Re: Hello :)
Thanks for the welcome :) My PCjr is actually brand new (well, new as in still sealed in the box.) I haven't yet opened it, and plan on doing an unboxing video just for fun once I get back from my business trip I'm currently on. It's the 128k model with floppy drive, and I've also gotten the 128k me...

Hello :)
Hi all, I just joined the forums after getting a hold of an IBM PCjr. There seems to be a ton of knowledge here and though I won't be doing hardware mods or anything in the near future, it looks like a great place to geek out and ask questions! I had a PCjr briefly as a kid and my dad worked for IBM...
