Re: I.WANT.V.G.A. lol
I took a look at the PCjr to CGA monitor adapter and it is a stubby little thing. It's probably a good idea to add an extension cable just to protect the pins and plastic separators.

Re: I.WANT.V.G.A. lol
What is the 6' DB9 cable for? I must be missing something, The PCjr to CGA cable plugs into the DAC. The DAC uses the 6 wire molex to send signal to the GBS-8220 (and two wire molex for power). The VGA cable plugs into the GBS-8220. What am I missing.?
Does the DAC come with any instructions?

Re: NEC V20 Question
Norton is wildly optimistic. I would say the V20 @ 4.77 mhz, more or less, gives the PCjr back the speed that video circuit robbed, making it about the same speed as the XT.

Re: Is Serial Mouse Useful?
I think so. Some mid to late 80s games had mouse support. The SCI Sierra games had mouse support. Lotus 123 (v2?) and Professional Write had mouse support.

Re: NEC V20 Question
Any 8 or 10 Mhz one should work as well. The speed rating is the maximum speed. Standard V20s have the same form factor as the 8088.

Re: Cheapest DOM for the JrIDE?
I am using a 128 MB DOM and a 32 MB DOM so smaller DOMs work. I want to upgrade to a 512MB eventually. I think they go for about $15

Re: It is I, your host ...
Congratulations on the new job. It's been quiet but I usually check the forum daily. When someone does post a question there a usually atleast a few responses. Everything is running great with the PCjrs. I plan to upgrade the jrIDE from a 128MB DOM to a 512MB one. One quirk with the jrIDE is it is n...

Re: QuickBASIC on the jr?
VB/DOS? Wow, I haven't spun that up for ages. There is a full copy buried out in the garage somewhere, but I think the install floppies are 3.5" and may be high density. VB DOS was painfully slow and I don't know if it would work without the Combo Cartridge. I uninstalled it almost immediately...

Re: QuickBASIC on the jr?
A bit of bad news My PCjr has the PC Enterprises Combo V2 cartridge. Among its features is a keyboard buffer and some Keyboard bug fixes. If I remove the cartridge I get the same results as you did on both QuickBasic and QBasic. Sorry. I recently spoke to the the people that used to own PC Enterpris...
