Re: Palmzip.sys vs Guest.exe
Okay... so I've got this combination working now, albeit slowly. I changed the ASPIPPM1.SYS line to use SPEED=1 and FILE=NIBBLE.ILM and now it's working with the ASPIDISK.SYS driver... the zip disk shows up as drive C:. I'll have to tinker with it a bit more to see if I can get byte access to work, ...

Bubble Bobble... is it compatible?
And by compatible... I mean once you do the Tandy mod. I've done the mod but it still doesn't look right. Tetris does, but not Bubble Bobble.

Re: NEC V20 Question
Mine wasn't socketed when I checked it. Nevertheless I put a socket in and it's running a V20.

Did you just run guest, or did you have to load the aspippm1.sys driver as well?

Re: Palmzip.sys vs Guest.exe
I know this is an old thread, but I'm attempting to get this working on my own system. I've used the palmzip demo driver successfully on my own system which has an NEC V20 and the standard parallel port sidecar that I've done the bidirectional mod on. After reading this thread I tried to get the ASP...

Re: New JR user.. Monitor, disk, DOS questions..
I personally use a CGA/Composite combination monitor. It's nice if you can swing one of those, since some older DOS games will output 16 colors on composite using the color artifact trick, otherwise it will appear as black and white on the CGA output. 7 Cities of Gold springs to mind. I do have a PC...

Re: Chicklet keyboard
You can take the PCB out of your working 'pro' keyboard and put it inside the 'chiclet' keyboard. I did that, but in reverse since I prefer the full-sized key caps. After seeing posts like this, though, it's making me wonder if I should swap them back and try getting used to the 'chiclet' keyboard ...

Re: Chicklet keyboard
Thanks for the pdf... I didn't have that one yet. Yeah, I think in retrospect that IBM's biggest mistake with the original keyboard was not putting the key labels on the keycaps themselves. I think if they had done that people might have been more receptive to it. As it is, if you're not an expert t...
