Re: Greater than 16 colour demo on PCjr
Yeah, I have no idea where I came up with 71 (it may have been unique colours for a particular image). But based on some sample code the number of unique combinations is most likely 85. As some colour combinations end up producing the sample result. I guess that's where the 85 colours for the Tandy ...

Re: Greater than 16 colour demo on PCjr
Thanks. Correct, by my calculations, there are only 71 unique colours. That's why I state, "greater than 16". When I mentioned 256 that was in regards to the Compute! magazine article. Here's a link: https://www.atarimagazines.com/compute/issue67/327_1_Million-Color_Palette_For_IBM_PC_PCjr...

Greater than 16 colour demo on PCjr
Hello, I have been playing with a bunch of ideas and one has been to generate more than 16 colours on the PCjr. I used to have a program in the 80s which would generate 256+ colours on the PCjr and I think it was from Compute! Magazine(at least I found something similar there on archive.org). So I d...

Re: Getting a short, continuous chirp and screen flash on boot
Hi Sean,
Sorry, I don't know what's up but I believe the main speaker is in the back corner. The chirping sounds a little like when the wireless keyboard isn't properly communicating. But that may be louder and I don't think I have ever heard it that early in the boot.

Re: Broken display pins
Jason, those brackets look great and are reasonably priced. However, I did create a simple 3D model myself for the JJLKLPT connector. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/cYoawmd2k46 I'll probably create something similar for the display/serial connectors. Note, I could only test the joystick ports. My ...

Amiga Boing demo recreation on the PCjr
Hi, Last Christmas I had some time to program a small demo for the PCjr. I have attempted to create something similar to the original Amiga Boing animation but for the PCjr. I have compiled two versions one which runs well with 128KB and another which requires 256KB but includes the grid background....

Re: Broken display pins
Yup, the CART screw is important (didn't see that the first time around). So five screws altogether. So I was able to remove the motherboard but one of the tabs was very stiff and the other was loose and may have a hairline fracture but I guess there not critical. Also, on closer inspection, I notic...

Re: Broken display pins
Thanks, Chuck, That should be helpful. Another related question, I want to remove the motherboard from the case and it doesn't look obvious as to how, as there seems to be several plastic tabs still holding the motherboard down and I didn't want to try moving it in case they broke. Thanks, Steve

Re: Broken display pins
Hi Chuck,
Yes, I would be interested in your detailed procedure. I'm missing the audio pin as well as a couple of ground pins. As well as one on my joystick port.
Thanks,
Steve
