Minor issue with jr-IDE RTC

Postby antongale » Sat Oct 03, 2020 1:22 pm

I've (almost) finished my jr-IDE build (see link below), but I'm running into an issue with RTC.COM. The build I am using is from https://www.retrotronics.org/svn/jride/ ... ebuilt/jr/ but it complains that options /P and /O are exclusive even when I don't state /P or /O in the command line.

However, the real issue lies in the fact that if I do issue a RTC /D /O the time is reported back without issue, but the hard-drive access slows to a crawl and eventually 'disappears'. If I don't use RTC.COM I can go about my day and use the IDE interface etc. without issue. The LED display on my jr-IDE hasn't been populated, I doubt this would contribute to the issue, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

I took a look at the RTC.C source code and if the variables post_on and post_off are set to 0, why does the statement 'if (post_on && post_off)' not = 0 and ignore the setting all-together?

I am having the same issue. Getting the same error and drive access becomes unresponsive. Did you ever find a fix for this?

I found the issue. The RTC version from where you (and I) downloaded it is different for whatever reason. Download it from this link and it worked without the /P or /O options and just the /D option and it works fine and drive access has no issues afterward.

That is the link from the jrIDE project page from the main retrotronics site. I know your post has been on here a while so I hope this helps or you had already figured it out.
