General discussions on the PCjr

You'll enjoy this. I was just in a local thrift shop this morning. I stopped in to take a look around and look to arrange for a donation of some things as a result of some spring cleaning.

There was only one PC circuit board on the shelf, no apparent PCs that I can recall and maybe a few monitors. The PC circuit board was.....a full length Xebec 1210 hard disk controller! It was a later revision, with jumpers for the disk parameter table selection as well as for the I/O port mapping.

The BIOS has a "(c) 1984 Zenith Data Systems" sticker....ahh, Zenith. $2.14, which ironically, I thought was kinda high!

Looks like I've got enough Xebecs to sacrifice one to a band saw for the form factor operation!

Dammit Matt! Stop! No band saws ...

XT-IDE is infinitely superior. But I can't get into a full-on rant without a beer ...
