TMC-850M without bios

Postby Anonymous Coward » Sun Oct 19, 2008 11:40 am

I was just wondering how to configure this card from config.sys using DCAM850.EXE so that you don't have to use an IRQ (or if it's even possible).

For a card that is configured at C800, IRQ3, your config.sys statement would look like this:

DEVICE=A:\DCAM850.EXE C800 3

However, if I wanted to using the card at C800 without an IRQ, this line fails to work:

DEVICE=A:\DCAM850.EXE C800

Is there something I'm missing?

Use the MCAM950 version of the driver.

According to the docs, DCAM versions are 'multi-tasking', and will disconnect from the SCSI bus after issuing commands. Getting the results requires the adapter to signal the driver via an interrupt. The MCAM versions stay connected to the SCSI bus for the duration of the transaction, and thus don't need an interrupt.

The MCAM versions take *no* parameters. I have no idea how that works. :-) It must be sensing the card somehow.
