Re: Monitor adapter
As am I! I'm picking up the PC this weekend, and probably hacking up the connector then as well. Pictures will be provided
Packard-Bell 286 (DOS 3.3, 32MB HD, 2.6MB RAM, HGC/EGA)
Tandy 1000TX (DOS 3.2, 640KB RAM, TGA)
Tandy 1000TX (DOS 3.2, 640KB RAM, TGA)
Re: Monitor adapter
Any luck with making the adapter?

Re: Monitor adapter
Heh, I never got around to finishing soldering it, though I do still have the half-completed bundle-o'-wires. Perhaps I should take another crack at it sometime...it'd go fine with my Tandy 1000RL/HD

Re: Monitor adapter
This is a hack I did when I upgraded from the PCjr to the PC, only I did not bother reconnecting the audio to the PCjr monitor. I remember it worked well and I used that setup for several years.
Edit: I chopped off the berg plug and soldered a 9-pin onto the cable.

Re: Monitor adapter
I thought of chopping off the Berg connector but I was deathly afraid of forgetting which wire was what. Do you recall, was the insulation colored so they could be easily told apart?

Yes, I was able to match the color of the wires to the signals for the Berg plug and then solder them to the correct pins in the 9-pin CGA plug. I regretted it now that I wanted to use it with the PCjr again.
