Mouser JrIDE

Post by Chuckphd53 »

A bit confused, tonight I sat down plugged in the Mouser Cart and the Joystick would not work..
I could swear I played mouser just the other day...

Did a CTRL ALT INS and both joysticks tested good...

When the system booted, it did the standard boot with the JrIDE counted memory then spun a bit, then Mouser started.
Tried One player, Two player, swapped joystick ports.

Hmmm Its been a long week, but heck... what did I miss

Sorry, I really need to send you the manual. Ctrl-K for keyboard and Ctrl-J for joystick. Fn-1 for one payer and Fn-2 for two.
Enhanced PCjr with a jr-IDE (1GB DOM) and a parallel port side car with a compact flash reader and backpack 1.44mb floppy attached. Tandy video mod.

Ken, do have another game question.
I have the Scuba Dive I just tried, first time, and had to clean the contacts, typical, but after it boots into the game
I select Ctrl K for keyboard, then Press F1 (single player) and it just seems to Start the into screen again, where it drips the SCUBA DIVE words.
Pressing F1 or F2 does not seem to enter the game.
If I just leave it alone it will transition into the demo....

I tried this on two machines, JrIDe and a Stock machine with 256K mem both had the same results.
Tried both Ctrl K and Ctrl J
It almost acts like a software Glitch, every seen this ?
chuck

Oh also, has anyone taken the image from the Cart and put it on floppy ?

If you mean ScubaVenture, I don’t have that cartridge, I think it is included on the floppy someone here created. I found a review online. It said the startup is confusing. Press F1 or F2 and it returns to the startup screen. Just let the music play to the end and then the game should begin. Defaults to keyboard control using arrow keys and space bar. Press J for joystick control and K to return to keyboard. I think this game messes up with a Tandy mod. One of the very few pieces of software that doesn’t like it.

Check “cartridge games on floppy” thread under this topic. I have it. It is pretty cool, but I am slowly collecting the carts when I can get the complete package. I have an extra Crossfire package if anyone is interested in buying it. In plastic case with instruction manual.

Thanks Ken...
Patience is a virtue I guess,,, Yup had to wait for the silly intro for the game to start, THAT is not friendly programming..
But it was the 80's who knows what was in the coffee at 2AM back then....

Much appreciated..
