Hi all - hoping there are some Racore Drive Two gurus out there!

I have a PC Jr with the Racore Drive Two unit. The second floppy drive works just fine. I am not sure if I have the DMA unit or not - I need to pop the top and look.

When I try to run the pow2clk.exe using the rapport v1 software I downloaded from this site I get an error: Rapport Clock Not Installed.

If I run the Racore v4 utilities I received from another user I get the following error: error finding racore side board segment address

The machine has 640K and that all shows up. I think the memory is from the Racore Drive II as well though I have a 128 sidecar attached too.

I have tried with DOS 3.2 and DOS 5.02.

Any thoughts or assistance appreciated. Thanks!!!

PS I also have the SD CART Jr installed and I can boot from the SD card with DOS 5.02 as well. I have not tried running with the cartridge out - could be causing a conflict I suppose. Will try that next.

I have a Racore model 1500 and a Rapport Model 1200. Both add 384kb memory and have clocks, as well a jr/PC switch on rear of sidecar. I've haven't used either for a while, and need to pull out and take a look. I know there are also a bunch of jumpers inside the sidecar that are described in the manual..

It seems you are getting the boost to 640kb from the 128 sidecar, did you check the jumpers on that sidecar?

I took it all apart yesterday to see what I had. Based upon looking at the manuals and the circuit board I have a Rapport 1200 non DMA with the full 384 extra RAM. I changed the clock battery (though the old one was still at the lower end of the green on my meter). The address jumper J1 was not at the default so I put it back (address C800).

Using the Rapport drivers from this site it now works. Are there any newer Rapport drivers (the ones on the site are 1.0) The Racore drivers are v4 and do not work with the same cannot find sideboard address error so I assume the Rapport and Racore drivers are different. Memory sidecar was properly set as 'first side car' with "1 0 0 0"

Now a new problem. My FDD in the rapport unit stopped working at the same time I put everything back together. I diagnosed by plugging the #2 drive in place of the #1 drive with the standard floppy cable and same problem. So put in a spare drive and all works fine now.

This was an odd coincidence with the drive dying. It spins and the head will seek track 00 but that is it. I fixed another drive because a lead came off the track 0 sensor. These were still attached on this drive. Any thoughts on my drive failure? it is the standard Qume 142 drive that came with the IBM kits.

PS - Everything also works with the SD-CART booting DOS 5.02 as well so there are no conflicts between my Rapport 1200 and the SD-CART.
