Is there anything special about the Tecmar Jr Captain power supply? I just got my first Jr (second one on the way) and the guy threw in 2 of them, sans power supply. Is this something I can just run to Radio Shack to replace, or do I need to hope Computer Reset can hook me up?

I think it's been covered here before - a quick search will clear that up.

Off the top of my head it's a weird output - 8.5VAC. And it generates quite a bit of heat in the sidecar because they put the voltage regulator in there.

Thanks, Mike. I did a search, and the only thing I found was a vague reference to eliminiating the power supply by jumpering the 5 VDC on the sidecar. Let me know if anything else turns up (I also found the Tecmar PDF, it says 5 V, but gives no other adapter spec's).

Here are the formal specs: 120 VAC, 60Hz, 18 watts. Output: 8.5 VAC, 1.35A

I've not been able to find another source for that, although I'm sure they are out there. Computer Reset is advertising that they have some.

I'm actually waiting to here back from Richard (we've been trading emails) on a few parts. I'll have him add this to the list.

Did you work out if there was a way to jumper it so it does not need the external A/C?

Hi guys, I found this http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-st ... MER/1.html. It's close to the specs Mike gave. The only problem, which shouldn't be hard to do, is to change the plug.
