PCjr joystick connector type?

I am practically swimming in PCjr joysticks, but not so much in PC DB15 gameport joysticks. While it is simple to cut the end off of the PCjr joystick and wire on a DB15, I would rather build some adapters so that the joysticks aren't permanently mangled. However, I have no idea what kind of "socket" the PCjr connector is, what it is called, whether you can order them, etc. Can anyone offer some assistance? I can wire simple adapters together, but I'm not a "hardware" person and don't know how to go about researching this sort of thing. I looked at the tech ref as well as the joystick supplement but couldn't find anything.

When jmetal88 built the PS/2 to PCjr keyboard adapter, he used some new AMP connectors to the keyboard port. I have no idea where he got them, but it might be a good place to look for joystick connectors. jmetal88? Ya out there?

I actually got the connectors themselves from Digikey or Mouser (forget which). One of those parts that AMP is oddly still selling through normal channels for some reason. I had to get the backshells from a different supplier, though (actually, I still had it bookmarked:

Any hints on what to search for at digikey or mouser? (What is this kind of socket called, anyway? A d-sub connector? Sorry for my extreme ignorance here; I'm a software person, not a hardware person.)

For Digikey, the flow is something like Connectors -> Rectangular -> Free Hanging, then you select things like pitch (0.1") number of rows (2) and number of pins (8).
And actually, Digikey has them:

Oh, you know what? I just realized you were looking for a mating connector, so I linked you the wrong type of thing.

So what you're going to want will be a generic pin header with 0.1" spacing and 8 pins, like this one:

That looks like standard jumper header- if that's all you're after, I have some of that left over from XTIDE work that I could send ya for free.

I think it would be best to use a pin header with a right angle-style pins, if you wanted to mount them to a PCB. If you are doing a wire-wrap style adapter, then that should be fine.
