EEVBlog's review of the PCjr

Post by Trixter »

The guy at EEVBlog is an electronics engineer and he likes to make videos poking fun at terrible electronics. He is very good at what he does, and he values quality. That's why I thought his video tearing down the PCjr:

...was interesting, because he starts out mocking the PCjr like just about everyone else in the world, and then the longer the video goes on, the more he admits that the hardware design wasn't all that bad. He even praises the power supply to a small degree.

Ah, he's just jealous, the Australians never got the PCjr. They got the obscure PC JX instead

Yes, but I have like 10 PCjr's and only one PC JX and it is in pieces.. Some shipper thought it was a great idea to add some folded cardboard around the 30 year old brittle plastic as adequate protection against the inevitable UPS driver dropping it on my porch.

I've stopped collecting, but I'll always accept a PCjx. I've always wanted one.
