Jr designs, need for connectors.

Post by Chuckphd53 »

Some of us are still making add-on items for the JR...

Has anyone found a source, if it exists, for the connectors that would plug into the back of the JR.
ie. the Joystick, keyboard, Serial port, Video....
I know we can get the standard 2x? female connectors but I am referring to the actual JR style that would
have the Metal housing and form / fit to the JR back side connectors...

I am about to 3D print some ABS molds for the standard 2x? pin for use with new designs but
would prefer to use the original type if they are still around !

I know the JR-IDE uses the side connector, and I'd also like to find that source for the Speech Board I am designing, as I am rethinking the use
of the Modem Connector....

Thoughts ?

They're called Berg connectors if that helps. I haven't seen mention of a reliable source for the types used on the Jr anywhere online.

I think that if you check the spacing on the Berg connectors you will find that the pin spacing is the same as the IDC spacing used on things like IDE hard drive cables. So it's not a perfect match, but more than adequate for a homebrew interfacing project.
